CONAI awards BAGATTINI: among the best cases of packaging ecodesign

Milan, November 2023 - 219 cases of sustainably revised packaging awarded, out of a total of 373 submitted by 107 companies. This is the balance in numbers of the tenth edition of the CONAI Call for Ecodesign, sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, which each year rewards virtuous cases of companies that have reduced the environmental impact of their packs, using at least one of the seven prevention levers: reuse, facilitation of recycling activities, use of recycled/recovered material, raw material savings, optimization of production processes, optimization of logistics, and simplification of the packaging system. Among them, ^BAGATTINI® was awarded for reducing by more than 25 percent the amount of plastic material used in the packaging of some of RECORD's signature product lines. The average benefits for the cases awarded this year by the CONAI Call for Proposals point out how the ecodesign activities carried out by the award-winning companies resulted in a 30 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, a 22 percent reduction in energy consumption and a 19 percent cut in water consumption compared to how the packaging would have been before the environmental impact reduction measures.
